Self Love, Self Care 101

Hello Gorgeous! These can be trying times with all the uncertainty in the air. That's why now more than ever it is important to give yourself some extra TLC to stay level headed in todays climate. Here at QWASHAE we have some tips and tricks to help you out. Welcome to Self Love, Self Care 101.


1. Take It Easy Girl

These days you might feel pressure to keep it all together! We are here to tell you to ease up on yourself. Take your time, everyday that you wake up and give life your best effort (even if it's small) you're already doing great!!


2. Dedicate a Day To YOU

Quarantine has popularized the trend of #SelfCareSundays and we could not be more in love with the idea. The hashtag is all about setting aside one day out of the week (typically Sunday) to do whatever you need to do to get your mind, body and spirit right for the week ahead. Whether it's reading your favorite book, having a mini spa day, or just giving yourself some much needed "me-time", make sure you are setting aside sometime to reconnect with yourself!





3. Invest in Your Personal Routine

This is the perfect time to revamp your personal care routine. Go ahead and invest in some really good skincare products, take a decadent bath with milk honey to bring the glow back to you skin, get into aromatherapy. Anything goes as long as it leaves you feeling good and relaxed. All is fair in love and self care, right!


4. Center Yourself

One of the key elements to self care is making sure you mind and spirit are feeling just as good as your body. Some great ways to center and connect with yourself are meditating, yoga, prayer time (if you are religious) or even just some old fashioned quiet time. A healthy mind is the first step to living a happy and fulfilling lifestyle.


5. Get Active

You do not have to be a gym fanatic to stay in shape. A jog or power walk around your neighborhood or local park is a great way to get your body moving while social distancing. Yoga can be done right in the comfort of your home and serves as a calmer alternative to cardio based workouts. If you just wanna move your body, hop onto YouTube and follow along to a Zumba or salsa class! Get those endorphins flowing and watch your mood improve instantly.


6. Write It Down, Let It Go.

When you feel like things are becoming overwhelming for you or you just need to vent and get it all out, journaling daily can vastly improve your mental health. Instead of bottling up the pressures of everyday life, write it down and see how much more clear your mind becomes. Even when things are going great, write those positive emotions down as well. You might need to look back on it later when you need some self encouragement!


7. Treat Yourself!

Finally, everyone needs a little pick me up every now and then. So go ahead, buy that pair of shoes from your favorite store. Order the steak and lobster and indulge in a great meal.
